Statement on Reopening Friday 4th December

The Restaurants Association of Ireland welcomes the decision announced this evening by Taoiseach Micheál Martin that restaurants, cafés and gastropubs will reopen for indoor dining on Friday 4th December.

Speaking about the announcement this evening, CEO of the Restaurants Association of Ireland Adrian Cummins said:

“Since June our sector has implemented additional safety measures, social distancing, and hygiene, we look forward to welcoming back our customers to our controlled and regulated businesses so that they can safely socialise again.

We will continue to advocate for our members to adopt best practice and to follow existing and new guidelines announced this evening.

This will be a Christmas season like no other, and we welcome the additional supports announced for our colleagues in the wider hospitality sector who unfortunately will be unable to open their doors.”
